Towne for Congress

Running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Pennsylvania's 15th district is an independant named Jake Towne. Running as an independent is a very daunting task. Republicans and Democrats have lots of money to throw behind their candidates and as we all know, most Americans vote along party lines, without really knowing what their candidate stands for. Independents have to raise money, usually, from individuals, rarely receive public backing from unions or other institutions and are considered lucky to be invited to political debates. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are Al Qaeda's best sources of recruiting for militants that wish to do harm to the United States. We simply cannot afford these expensive occupations, especially when they put us in danger of future aggression and retaliation. We need a strong national defense, not an empire.

One thing most people would like to see in our government is transparency. Its a buzzword thrown around by just about every politician, abandoned as soon as they get elected. If you have ever written a letter to your representative you likely never even got a response. It makes you wonder if they even care.
